Your first tour

  • Record your tour
    • Add the tourmaker HUD
    • using the menu button on it, do a clear to empty any previous use data
    • Go where your tour will start. move 5-15m away and click on hud (not on menu nor on clock).
      • you hear a bip
      • a red cone appears where you are, pointing on the direction your camera was when you clicked. the orientation of that cone is important only if your vehicle will use tilt or rot option “cam”
      • One waypoint has been recorded. It also appears in your chat, useful when you use the hud just to capture a single point for editing a tour
      • Moving or turning the cone will have no effect. If you can't rez there no cone will be rezzed but that has no effect on your tour. Cones are deleted after 10 minutes.
    • You may say something in local chat. It will also be recorded and whispered to riders on the way to the point you just recorded
    • Move to your next point. When going straight you don't need to make many intermediate points
    • look back to make sure there is no solid obstacle between previous point and you. Seeing the cone helps.
    • look forward and click HUD again for next point
    • If you say something in local chat it will also be recorded. And that will be whispered by your tour on the way to that point. No stress. You can always modify or remove such lines in the notecard later
    • If you cross region border, do it slowly. The hud will automatically add the commands for it
    • keep doing so till the end of your tour. For a first test don't make it too long

    • open the link and copy all that text to paste it in a new notecard
    • tourmaker HUD has more features. See TourMaker HUD
    • you can detach the hud now
  • Rez GTS chair, or another vehicle from their sub-folder
    • Edit vehicle and add the notecard to it's content
    • Change vehicle name to not confuse it with vehicle without notecard
    • take vehicle back in inventory
    • A vehicle can contain more than one notecard. In that case riders will get a choice menu when they sit
    • that way you can have different tours or tours with comments in different languages
    • names of notecards will be the menu buttons. Keep them short
  • Rez GTS base at your tour starting point
    • Edit the base and add the modified vehicle to it's content
    • Vehicle (a copy of) should shortly appear over the base
