EyeVisit

EyeVisit is a cool way to help your visitors discover details of a place by moving their camera around and providing comments in private chat.

  • User just sit on EyeVisit, press ESC to unlock cam and choose language if there is more than one provided.
  • user is unsit automatically at end of presentation.

“ If user language is detectable, “press ESC to free your cam” messages will be displayed in his language for fr,sp,pt,it,du,ge

EyeVisit is transfer-nocopy and available in different versions

  • SteamPunk stand 15 prims
  • modern couch 14 prims
  • modern stand 19 prims
  • modern simple 10 prims

To make your presentation you use the provided EyeVisit HUD

  • Wear the HUD
  • Move your camera to a point of view you want to show
  • Click on HUD, the cam position is recorded
  • Chat a comment for that point of view (or several lines)
  • move your camera to another point, click hud, chat, etc to the end of your presentation

If you want to start over, just say clear in chat and HUD memory will be flushed

When you have finished, touch red button or say save in chat. HUD will chat all cam positions and comments

  • copy it from chat history and paste it in a new notecard
  • name that notecard after its language, ie “English”
  • add the notecard to EyeVisit contents, you're done

You can add some special commands to your notecard at any line. Each command must be alone on a line, $ must be first char in that line

  $,pause,xx,
make an additional pause of xx seconds then continue

$,camtime,xx, set the wait time after each camera movement to xx seconds (default is 1sec) $,linetime,xx, set the wait time aftr each chatted line to xx sec(default is 5 sec)

camtime and linetime affect all subsequent timings unless you issue a new command

$,say, channel, text, can be used to trigger some special effect. if you have a door that can be

opened bay anyone by saying /1open EyeVisit can do it when you want with
 command $,say,1,open,

$,give, objectname, give object “objectname” to user. you can use this to give a souvenir

to your visitor. item can be an object a notecard, a landmark etc. it must be copyable
and present in the eyevisit contents

$,link,integer,string,

for scripters, will send integer and string to all other prims. can be used for example
to change the texture on the display. Or anything else you script yourself

Things to know:

  • not all residents have unlocked camera limit, so don't go more than 50m away from EyeVisit position
  • some residents have 4/3 screens, so imagine they won't see left and right borders of what you see if you have a 16/9 screen ratio
  • you can edit your notecard afterwood to enhance comments
  • you can remove the line headers ([06:14] EyeVisit HUD: ) but you don't need to
  • You can make a copy of your notecard, rename it to another language and translate the comments. when more than one notecard is in EyeVisit contents, user will get a menu to choose from
